O Cinema's monthly series, SEASONED ACTORS, celebrates the work of an actor that has greatly contributed to the cinematic culture of our lifetimes. And it kick off the 2nd year, our first season of 2023 will be honoring the work of the trailblazing MICHELLE YEOH!The Ang Lee directed CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON stars Michelle Yeoh as Yu Shu Lien, a skilled warrior and former lover of the film's male lead, Li Mu Bai. The story is set in ancient China and follows the journey of two powerful warriors, Li Mu Bai and Shu Lien, as they attempt to retrieve a stolen sword and confront their feelings for each other. Along the way, they must also face off against a powerful and dangerous warrior known as the Green Destiny. Yeoh delivers a powerful performance as Shu Lien, showcasing her martial arts skills and emotional range as she battles both external enemies and her own inner demons. Her portrayal of the strong-willed and determined warrior is a standout in the film, earning her critical acclaim and solidifying her status as one of the most talented actors in the industry.
